Here in the Barossa Valley, the vines are slowly turning the vineyards back to a vivid green. The blossom has made way for fresh foliage and the beginning of fruit – Spring is here.
At BDC we are gearing up for what is already turning out to be a very busy Spring and Summer period. With record numbers coming through The Distillery, enjoying our tasting paddles and cocktails, we are being kept on our toes. The demand for our Gin seems ever increasing and we are loving all the very kind feedback.
At this time of year it is all about Generations and Budburst Gin; our Vintage ’18 Shiraz Gin is all gone and we are looking forward to Vintage ’19. Our second and third batches of Barrel Aged Gin are maturing nicely, batch 2 has already been pre-sold with only batch 3 now available in a few months time.
This weekend saw the return of the local strawberry farmers at the Barossa Farmers Markets, We were quick off the mark Saturday morning and did a little happy dance as we sliced the delightful fruit to garnish our Budburst Gin.
Strawberry is not necessarily the first garnish that Springs to mind (pun intended, thank-you) when you think of a G&T, but it is the perfect partner to Budburst.
Distilled with Sweet Orange, Macadamia, Vanilla, Clove and then blended post distillation with local White Frontignac wine. Budburst has a flavour profile unlike any other Gin out there. Fruity and just a hint of something floral, garnished with Strawberry and Mint and mixed with Fever TreePremium Indian Tonic water – its the perfect partner to a Sunny day.
